About Susan Meyer

Susan is the founder of the UTBT. Susan would identify herself simply as a follower of Christ. She led a successful women’s ministry, and she had a successful 25 career as an executive banker. Her heart was moved to help women who were victims of poverty and experienced poverty over their minds, body, and soul.

She received a calling to become the Executive Director at Abigayle Ministries, a residential program for homeless pregnant women. Susan soon learned that like herself, women had traumas, hurts, and wounds from the past that required the healing and transformation found in Christ alone.

Through a friend, she learned about Healing Care Ministries. This opened the door to her own transformational healing experience and a desire to provide this same care to others who are suffering from deep wounds and emotional trauma. She completed the Certificate program through Healing Care Ministries and is fully equipped through the power of the Holy Spirit to walk beside you on your healing journey that invites personal transformation.

About the Broom Tree

Once there was a great prophet of the Lord named Elijah. He was a man who faced many obstacles and opposition as he spoke the truth God gave him to share in His effort to save His people and did many signs and wonders in the name of the Lord. As a result, Elijah was condemned and hunted down by those he angered. Elijah became exhausted, weary, and greatly discouraged! When Elijah lost all hope he walked into the wilderness, sat down under a broom tree, and prayed for death (1 Kings 19:4) The Lord seeing his hurt, pain, and discouragement sent an angel to care for him. Elijah was given rest, food, and water to strengthen him for the journey ahead that would result in his spiritual and emotional healing and a companion, Elisha, to learn from him and ease his burden.

We all experience moments when it all ‘seems too much” and you need a place to find healing for your spirit. The weight is too much for you to carry alone. At “Under the Broom Tree” you will find a caregiver .. a spiritual companion..willing to provide you with a safe place to rest, renew and restore your spirit through the help of the Holy Spirit. You are not alone and the Lord desires to meet you on your journey with his presence and the healing and rest for your soul that can be found in Him alone.

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
